Vascular Surgery

Surgical residents rotate on the peripheral vascular surgery service at the University Hospital and at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center. They are exposed to all aspects of arterial and venous disease, and gain significant clinical experience. Clinical vascular surgery conferences are held each Friday at the University Hospital and each Monday at the Veterans Affairs Hospital. A busy clinical vascular laboratory is maintained.

The Vascular Surgery Service provides a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to the diagnosis, management, and follow-up of peripheral vascular disease, improving the care of the vascular patient and the training of surgical residents. Surgical residents have the opportunity to spend one or two years in vascular research pursuing a variety of basic science and clinical projects.
