The Division of Surgical Education is committed to developing the next generation of surgical leaders through the advancement and support of excellence in surgical education. The Division promotes the delivery of high-quality surgical care through innovative and evidence-based teaching strategies, rigorous accreditation and evaluation processes, maintenance of certification, and meaningful research and scholarship in surgical education. Members of the Division bring diverse expertise in educational theory and practice, including advanced training through the Master Teachers Leadership Development Program and graduate degrees in education. Our mission is to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth that both challenges and supports our learners and educators across the full continuum of undergraduate and graduate surgical education and faculty development. Through mentorship, curricular innovation, and scholarship, the Division seeks to create an engaging educational environment in which medical students, residents, fellows, faculty, and staff are empowered to learn, teach, lead, and advance the field of surgery.
