Mohammad Shaear, MD

Resident Bio

Originally from Egypt and moved to The States in 2013. Since then, I have lived in the Washington metropolitan area. I studied medicine in Egypt, then moved to the USA to continue my medical education. After my graduation I enjoyed spending some time in clinical research before starting my surgical residency last year. I am thrilled to return to Washington D.C. and join the famous George Washington General Surgery Residency Program as a preliminary PGY2 resident. Being part of GW’s surgical community is a great achievement in my surgical career because I always wanted to be in an academic place with plenty of resources for education and training like George Washington University. Additionally, the general surgery residency program offers excellent training along with up to date knowledge that make competent surgeons by the time of graduation.  I have a strong interest in endocrine surgery, minimally invasive surgery and surgical innovations. Since I left Egypt, I have considered Washington D.C. my home and favorite spot as it offers everything in one place. I can play soccer, go hiking, try different foods, and go to concerts and live shows with family, friends and strangers.
