Resident Bio

I was born and raised in Chicago, IL; obtained my undergraduate degree also in Chicago at UIC in chemistry and obtained my medical degree at Saint James School of Medicine in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. I have a significant interest in cardiothoracic as well as pediatric surgery. I have a strong passion for academic research which started in my undergraduate career and has continued to evolve in my professional training. Being a first generation American from a third world country, my Nigerian background has filled me with the spirit to give back to underserved communities and has given me the drive to go into global surgery to provide resources to countries that are in need of better healthcare. In choosing GW, this program has strong clinical training with academic guidance that cares for the development of each trainee. Washington D.C is a great place and, in my opinion a smaller version of Chicago that has a lot to offer and a variety of opportunities to choose from.
