Resident Bio
I was born and raised in Lagos, Nigeria, and later moved to New Jersey, where I completed both my undergraduate and medical school training. I developed a strong interest in colon and rectal surgery, particularly because of the rising incidence of colorectal cancer at younger ages and its disproportionate impact on African American communities. I’m also drawn to the field’s wide range of conditions, including benign and malignant colorectal diseases, anorectal disorders such as hemorrhoids and fistulas, and pelvic floor dysfunction. In addition to my clinical interests, I’m passionate about promoting diversity in medicine and hope to be involved in pipeline programs that provide early exposure and mentorship opportunities for underrepresented students interested in healthcare careers.
